Measuring the Hubble Constant with Miras
1. In Huang et al. 2018 we used observations of NGC 4258, the water megamaser host galaxy to identify a sample of Miras and calibrate their absolute luminosity using the geometric megmaser distance.
2. In Huang et al. 2019 we followed up with observations of Miras in the host galaxy of Type Ia Supernova 2005df, NGC 1559, to obtain a fiducial SN Ia luminosity and a 5.5% measurement of the Hubble constant.
Calibrating the M-sigma Relation
I am also working on calibrating the supermassive black hole mass and bulge stellar velocity dispersion relation using archival STIS data and MUSE IFU.
